Bee Cave Sculpture Park

While cruising throughout the small town of Bee Cave, Texas, I stumbled upon Bee Cave Sculpture Park. It’s really hard to miss as its literally across the way from the Bee Cave Police Station. The weather was dark, gloomy, and kept raining. It didn’t stop me from taking a few pictures of some of the sculptures.

Whether I am visiting a big city or small town for business or pleasure, I like to look for their “hidden gems”. Last week, I stayed in a hotel in a small town called Bee Cave, Texas. Bee Cave is located in Travis County, just 12 miles west of Austin, Texas.

The 7-acre natural park showcases a combination of permanent and rotating sculptures. Not only are the art pieces beautiful, the spring-fed pond, variety of plants, and large oak trees are too. Even on a cloudy day, it was easy to lose track of time looking at each sculpture.

There is a total of 24 art pieces but, because the rain began to come down hard, I wasn’t able to get pictures of them all. 16 art pieces captured out of 24 isn’t too bad.  The sculpture park is definitely on my hidden gem list and I would love to return on a sunny day to take better, brighter pictures.

If you are ever driving through the Bee Cave or Austin area, be sure to stop by the sculpture park. There is even a park brochure map available for download. This is a unique place and perfect for the avid art lover, photographer, nature lover, or zen seekers.

Are YOU an artist or know anyone who is? Artist applications are welcomed to have their sculptures displayed at the park. If you are interested and/or would like more information, contact: info@beecavearts.org.
