The Very Hungry Caterpillar at The Magik Theatre

The Very Hungry Caterpillar at The Magik Theatre

The nephews and I had such a great time attending the performance of The Very Hungry Caterpillar at The Magik Theatre. The children’s book is a timeless classic and has made its way to the stage. The nephews were so excited to see their favorite book characters come to life and even more so to meet them after the play.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar is playing at The Magik Theatre (and The Empire Theatre) now till August 17th, 2019. The ideal ages for the play are up to age 5 but, all ages would enjoy the story.

The Magik Theatre is located Downtown/Hemisfair, 420 South Alamo, San Antonio, TX 78205 and The Empire Theatre is located at 226 N St Mary’s St, San Antonio, TX 78205.

Summertime Fun

With summertime temperatures being so high, taking the family to see a play is a great way to stay cool, have fun, and introduce them to new stories. Both theatres have become a place my family and I visit regularly.

After the play, the nephews wanted some fun in the sun so, we ventured off into Hemisfair Park which is only a few steps away and played around on the splash pad. It was a great Sunday Funday!

About The Very Hungry Caterpillar

Created by Jonathan Rockefeller, the critically acclaimed production of The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show features a menagerie of 75 lovable puppets, faithfully adapting four of Eric Carle’s stories, Brown Bear, Brown Bear, 10 Little Rubber Ducks, The Very Lonely Firefly and of course, the star of the show – The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

Author/illustrator Eric Carle has delighted generations of readers since it was first published in 1969 selling more than 43 million copies worldwide. Carle’s well-known books captivated readers with his iconic colorful hand-painted tissue paper collage illustrations and distinctively simple stories, introducing generations of children to a bigger, brighter world – and to their first experience of reading itself.
