Eyelash Extensions Benefits

Getting eyelash extensions have helped me save time getting ready for my day. I feel dressed up when my eye makeup is done, and my eyes are enhanced. But, when traveling with a full itinerary, sometimes you don’t have time to get all dolled up every morning. My personal clients always ask me about the pros and cons of eyelash extensions. I’ll admit, they are not for everyone and they do require upkeep. Some of the benefits to wearing eyelash extensions are:

• Your eyes appear more youthful and vibrant.
• You no longer waste time with eyelash curlers or mascara.
• Say good-bye to clumpy lashes, mascara smudges, and flakiness.
• Depending on the color, eyelashes can bring out the color of your eyes.

Home Care and Maintenance

If you wear heavy eye makeup, eyeliner and eye shadow are totally fine to use. Keep those eyelash extensions in good shape by avoiding oil-based products and waterproof mascara. If you workout often, wait at least 24 hours after a new set of lashes are put on. Be careful with excessive exposure to water and heat because they could loosen your lashes.

Home care and maintenance play a huge part in how long your lash extensions last. If you are one to rub your eyes a lot and/or pick at your lashes, extensions may not be for you. Other ways to maintain and care for your eyelash extensions are:

• Avoid sleeping with your face pressed into your pillow.
• Use only water-based mascaras and oil-free makeup removers/cleansers.
• Don’t aggressively scrub your lashes when cleaning them.
• Don’t use an eyelash curler; you can actually break your extension and your natural lashes.
• Avoid using q-tips or cotton rounds near your lashes; the fibers could get caught in your lashes.
  Keep up with your touch up appointments. 

Eyelash extensions can help you look your best but, do require upkeep.
