Economical with a Sporty Edge: 2016 Scion iA Review

I have never owned a compact car so I was very excited to have the Scion iA to drive around for a little while. The 2016 Scion iA that I had the pleasure of experiencing came in a neutral shade of grey, “Sterling” to be exact. The compact sized joy definitely has a sporty edge to it with its sleek front end and all the stylish features like halogen headlamps, 16-inch alloy wheels, chrome-tipped exhaust, daytime running lights, and power outside mirrors with LED turn-signal indicators to name a few.  When I got inside the Scion iA for my first drive, I found the front sport bucket seats snug and very comfortable and since I am a bit on the short side, the height-adjustable driver seat made my level of comfort even better. (There are 60 /40 split fold-flat seats in the back.

Being a woman on the go, what I loved most about the Scion iA is how smooth it drove, economical it is on gas, and its size made it easy to park. Being a business woman, the Bluetooth hands-free calling system made it safe and easy to communicate with my clients while on the road. When going grocery shopping or picking up supplies for my beauty studio, the trunk was nicely spacious and all that I needed loaded up to take home fit great. I had the car on a couple of rainy days and the intermittent front wipers cleared the windshield so clean, my view on the road was as if it wasn’t raining at all. The car was especially fun on a girl’s night out; all were comfortable and the connectivity with Pandora, 6 speakers, AM/FM radio with HD radio functionality, plenty of USB ports to charger our smartphones, and 7-inch touch screen display we all remained fully charged while jamming to our favorite tunes.

It was hard to give the Scion iA back since I really enjoyed it. Other features I enjoyed were the backup camera, remote keyless entry with push-button start, cruise control, rear-window defogger, tilt/telescopic steering wheel with audio controls, power windows with driver-side auto up/down and jam protection, and power door locks. In my opinion, the car is great for those on the go, want to save gas, have long job commutes, an economical car with a sporty edge, and even great as a first time car for a college student.
